Max's first time with real paint and brushes etc. I wasn't sure if he was ready yet, but much to my astonishment he was quite into it and went at it with great dedication and concentration. And promptly threw a fit when it was time to stop and clean up! Ahhh the terrible twos times two are in full throttle at our house lol

Well, I can hardly believe it, but Max and Anna were 22 months yesterday! WOW! That's almost two years old and surely my babies aren't "almost" two years old already, right?
This is such an exciting time though. They learn SO much in such a short space of time, every month is like a huge difference. When I look at the difference between Easter and now it's like night and day!
Well I guess I better make arrangements for their birthday party soon. We're thinking of having a little BBQ and cake party at the local park, I just need to find out how to book one of the covered seating/eating areas. It would be great if all the kids could run around in the park and the weather should be a little more "bearable" at that point too!
I think I'll have a "Thomas, the tank engine" theme, since both are totally into that!
It'll make for a lot of blue but that'll be ok.
It'll be fun to make a thomas cake though! I haven't exactly done much cake decorating lately and I miss it a little, so there'll be my chance!

Some photos from the painting session we had a couple of afternoons ago! Max really got into the whole painting thing. He didn't want to stop at all! Anna was more interested in painting her hands and face, but not just randomly ... she tried to be quite precise while painting her palms :D

I was tagged.
The Rules:
1. I have to post these rules before I give you the facts.
2. Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
3. People who are tagged need to write a post on their own blog (about their eight things) and post these rules. (if you don't have a blog, email me)
4. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
5. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

randomoddities:

1. I HATE Brussel's sprouts! I think too many british christmas dinners with sprouts cooked so soft that they had that brownish pink tinge did that!

2. I love british movies/series etc. I have netflix just so I can get my british fix.

3. I have never watched a single episode of Grey's anatomy, Lost, Desperate Housewifes or seen more than the last 10 minutes of the last episode of american idol. *shocking I know*

4. My DH and I met online.

5. I LOVE sour gummy worms! Has to be a particular brand though!

6. I spent a year in a rather archaic, catholic boarding school in Bavaria (Germany).

7. I don't like heat, I miss winters (snow), I miss water (be it the sea, rivers, lakes etc or something as simple as rain) - yet I live in the desert.

8. I'm a recovering perfectionist. *wink*

People I'm tagging to come at a later date.

Well here we are - Another week has started!
The kid's are getting better (Anna got the cold too a day after Max - of course!) and we're back to the all important daytime nap, without which none of us function well. The kids get beyond cranky without it and Mommy gets nothing done without the 1-2 hrs space that the kids are usually napping.
Sweet Christine tagged me I see but I'm not really blogging experienced enough to be doing much tagging myself ... so I'm "bending the rules" ... I'll answer the questions but tagging others will have to wait until I actually know other people that blog.

Here's a LO by Linda Paulson, one of our very talented creative team members. She made this LO for the Amazing Digiscrapping Race - with, and I quote " EVERYTHING in this layout was created by Birgit Kerr at DSAG…INCLUDING THE TWINS!!!"
That is just so funny! I can't quite take credit alone for "creating" the twins though *wink*

We had a better night last night! Max slept all the way through!
However, this morning has been a bit of a challenge and he hasn't been willing to have a nap yet today, which makes him a very LOUD and crabby boy. He's sooo tired and he usually needs a lot of sleep, but it seems he's just not having the best time with lying down.
Seems he's also teething. He is quite a drooler at the best of times (during teething), but the amount he has had since yesterday is in a new league of it's own! Maybe the molars are coming in! *sigh* Well I better go and do as Anna says: "Mama, read book!" :D

We went to a First Birthday Party on Sunday afternoon. As you can see, the kiddos need to fight over that particular blanket wherever we go *sigh* :)

And we also had lots of fun with bows!

The photos are not the best unfortunately - we really do need to get a new camera now. This one is dying a slow but steady and extremely pixelating death!
I'm still debating which one to get, since I would like to go for something a lot more sophisticated than a point and shoot this time. A camera that grows with my skill level - ie goes from "point and shoot" (my level now) to custom manual settings of a pro (hopefully my level sometime in the future!)
It certainly needs to be a camera that can keep up with action shots - the kids aren't going to slow down any in the next few years and I am so tired of trying to fix blurry photos!
Anyway, I'm sure I'll be discussing the camera issue in depth here if and when it happens *grin*

Last night was a little tough! Max was one miserable little boy! He was soooo tired he could barely keep his eyes open, but he has a bit of a cold (=stuffed up nose) and he couldn't take his binky. We have him weened off "daytime binkies" for several months now, but it is still essential for comfort during the night! So he would wake up WAILING, screaming like somebody was about to roast him alive. When it happened the first time I thought that some horrific thing had happened to him - but when I got there it was "just" Max being ever so miserable, holding his binkie duck in consternation and despair, sniffling and in much need of comfort. The "clear your sinuses out" solution I added to their humidifier did help a little but not quite enough to keep him asleep!

Long night short ... he had us up way too many times last night! I went about 8 times, DH twice ... and the boy was just a little heap of misery that needed lots of Mama hugs and reassurance. Of course by then Anna would be up too!
I have very good sleepers though usually and I hardly ever have to get up during the night to see to them, unless they are sick, so I really can't complain. However, I do feel the restless night this morning ... but of course the kids are just fine ... they have energy to spare ... and they were up as many times as me! Ahhh old age ... lol
Let's see how naptime goes! Max's nose has reached the runny stage right now, which means chasing after him and wrestling with him for ever nose wipe, but I have lots of practice in that :D
I had hoped to scrap a LO last night, since I usually "treat" myself with a LO when I've finished all my products for a release day but of course that didn't happen. I got as far as photo placement before the wailing started - oh well! Maybe tonight!

Well, today this blog went live ... well sort of! I changed permissions so everyone can see, but I'll probably still move the "furniture" around a bit for while as I learn this blogging stuff!
But if you happen to come upon this blog ... sit down, make yourself comfortable and "test drive" my new home :)

Blogosphere - the final frontier!
These are the voyages of a digiscrap designer. My mission: to explore strange new designs, to seek out new elements and color combinations, to boldly go where no digi scrap designer has gone before!

Yes, it has finally happened. I now have a blog too! Many of you may say: "Well, it's about time!", I say it didn't take nearly long enough ;)
And no, in case you're wondering - I'm not a Trekkie, but these words above came to mind when I was trying to navigate the strange new world of blogger today!
So, welcome to my blog!! Bear with me while I figure this out and "move in" properly!
I hope you'll stop by often and if you don't find me here, you'll find me over at the Digital Scrapbooking Artisan Guild.
Have a great day and happy scrapping!
