Blog Redesign And My New Store!

And we’re back! Well, the blog was never really gone, but we’re back to full functionality as it were.

I am still working out a couple of kinks on some pages. It seems that I always run into some little technical difficulties when it comes to redesigns. They make no sense, it should all work, but then it doesn’t. So, for the last day or so I’ve been fiddling with things that just won’t go right. They look one way in the preview, then when posted, they look different. For some reason blogger changes and inserts codes. Sigh!

However, the more annoyed I get with it, the more stubbornly I feel I just need to “push through” and it will all be ok, the more it, of course, won’t cooperate.

So, it is time to take a step back, embrace the imperfection (arrgghhh! that’s still a hard one for me!) and let it go for a bit.

Once I get truly out of resistance, I’m sure things will change!

In the meant time, check out the new design, peruse my new pages, ignore the unfinished bits here and there and please, let me know if anything isn’t working as it should! If you can’t see any changes, please refresh your browser/cache by hitting F5 on top of your keyboard!

Taking a break from the designing part of things also means, that I can hopefully go back to some painting! It’s been a WHOLE week for me and I have missed it so!

As much as I enjoy doing digital art, I have become accustomed to getting my hands dirty, as it were, and since I’ve admitted to myself just how much I love, love , love making art, I feel slightly adrift when I don’t!

My paint brushes are beckoning, for sure!

Tonight, I will do some art! Yes!

Oh, and in some other news - while I was doing all this techy stuff, I also set up my Etsy Mixed Media Art store! I’m so excited about this!

This means I’ll be selling originals and prints of my art work! Yay!  What else is possible!  I would love it if you went and had a look! Hopefully you will find something you love!

  2. It's looking great Birgit! I can totally relate with things not always working as we expected. It's an ongoing process of infinite tweaks, I find! :) You've done a great job! xxx

  3. I found your site totally randomly and am going through the mixed media section to low and behold see your Carla Sonheim projects from life book 2014 (which I am also taking) and 1. I was so happy to see someone blogging their outcomes 2. I can't believe how incredibly popular this "life book" is! I just found it this year (am soo glad I did) and I'm thinking where the h e double hockey sticks have I been! Great projects I just love them!
