Finding My Way!

*~*~*And the winner of the kit is lucky #4, Loralynn! Congratulations! Please email me to claim your coupon code for your Finding My Way Kit!*~*~*

I have some news!! I’ve been bursting to tell for a few days and now I finally can!
I give you a little  hint!

Ok, so that was a pretty massive hint. Actually it wasn’t a hint at all, it was giving the whole game away!! Obviously the concept of hinting is somewhat lost on me!

So yes, I’ve been dusting off Photoshop and got to design a kit with Lor, a.k.a. Studio Rosey Posey!

As most of you know, I've been out of digi-scrap designing for a while now! As many of you, who follow my blog also know, I have continued to be creative, but in quite new, to me, avenues!
I ended up really getting into the hands-on art journaling, paper scrapping and Project Life! Not only that, I started dabbling in drawing! Yes, me ... the one who could barely do a stick figure!

The other day Lor asked if I might want to do a collab kit one of these days and I jumped at the chance! I was so ready to crank up Photoshop again!

And who better to do it than sweet Lor, who's style and products have always been some of my favorites and who's seemingly never-ending creativity is an inspiration!

So, we just ran with it and it certainly seemed like we just happened at the right time, as the topic, the color scheme, all just happened so naturally and fell into place readily!

As you can see, my style has changed a little and you find a few of my recent hands-on projects reflected in this kit. Not only that, when I decided to stop digi-designing at the time, it was in no small part because I wanted and needed some time to find my way - mostly to myself!
For that reason alone, this kit is very near and dear to my heart, as it also reflects a lot of my personal journey and transformation!

I really enjoyed digi designing again and had so much fun putting this kit together with Lor! I am so grateful for her inspired timing in encouraging me to dust off Photoshop and for her amazing creativity!
I hope you all have as much fun scrapping with this kit as we had making it! It has been a blast! Thank you, Lor!

Let me show you some of what we created together!
You can purchase this as either a bundle (all of it!) or as the Finding My Way kit (main papers, elements, word strips and alphas.)

Here are the elements:

The papers:

The alphas:

The word strips, typed on my vintage typewriter:

Then we also did some clusters:

And some extra art papers:

And just look at all the gorgeousness the crew and the Studio Rosey Posey team put together!

And, yes, there is a coupon!

I really hope you enjoy this kit! I had a blast making it and can’t wait to see what fabulousness you all create with it!

Oh, and I’ll also having a little contest:
Leave a comment on this post to be entered to win a FREE copy of the Kit!
Winner will be chosen at random on Saturday, Sept 15, 2012!
***The contest is now closed. Thank you for participating!***
Happy scrapping!

Christmas Cards and a Giveaway!

For the last two weeks I’ve been trying to decide what to do for Christmas cards this year!

Well, I have come up with a few options, which are currently available in my store!

folder[2]

This pack of Christmas cards contains 4 cards in 3 different styles. They are 5” x 7” in size.

  • First we have the more traditional style, one photo card.
  • Then two cards in the same style but different colors. It's also a one photo card. The style is quite clean and graphic.
  • Last we have the multiple photo card. The photos are the focal point on this card. Ideal if you want to give your family and friends a quick glimpse of the main events of this year. Or just some random snapshots of what everyone looks like now! Or you might want to use some blocks for photos and some others for highlighting some main events in writing. Or you could mix and match photos and some christmassy scrapbook papers or embellishments!

Whatever you end up doing, this pack of ready-made Christmas cards in PNG format are the fast and easy way to get your cards done this year!

Currently the pack of digital cards is 21% OFF, so don’t miss it!

******************************************

I still haven’t decided which way to go for our cards though!

If we’re going with the more graphic style one, we need to get a current Christmas photo of the kids first. The one in the preview is from last year! I do quite like the clean, simple and  more eye catching style of it! We had a similar style for last year’s card!

But I also like the idea of giving friends and family an impression of a few snippets of our life from this year too!

Ahh, decisions … decisions!

Anyway, here is the close up view of the cards:

And just because I ‘m feeling in the Christmas mood, I’ll be giving away this pack of digital cards to 3 (three) lucky winners!

For an extra entry, tell me which tutorial/post on my blog is your favorite in a separate comment!

I’ll be doing a random drawing on Monday.

Good luck ladies!

Halloween Favor Bags and a Giveaway!

Last night I was busy making 20 favor bags for Max’s pre-school Halloween Party.

Since I still had plenty of lunch bags left over from my last “Inexpensive Favor Bags” project, I thought I’d use them up!

PA275495[1]

But before I show you how I made them, let me talk a little about Dawn Inskip, one of the newest addition to the Scrapbookgraphics Group of designers. If you are not familiar with her designs yet, let me introduce you!

She just has the cuuuutest things in her store!

But my favorite has to be the Softly Spooky kit that I used to make the Halloween bag toppers!

dinsk_sspooky_ep_prev-1[1]Adorable, right?

It was just perfect for the “I don’t want it to be too scary” kind of Halloween my kids are into!

And it was so easy too. The entire digital kit is just full of cute little characters that work for so much more than just digital scrapbooking pages!

So,  back to favor bags. But stay tuned as there will be a little contest at the end of this post Smile

First I put together this bag topper in my photo editing software. You can design yours any way you want, but in this instance I basically just pulled a few of the darling characters onto my canvas, typed my message with the Billy Bear’s Crayon Font.

My lunch bags were 5” wide, so I made my toppers that wide.

topper[1]

Then I printed them two to a sheet of printer paper, cut them out with the trusty guillotine and folded them ready to go on the bags once they are filled.

PA275477[1]

I also cut the tops off the lunch bags, to make them a little shorter, but that’s entirely optional!

Then I drew the faces on the lunch bags with a sharpie pen.

If you’re not too confident about free handing it, you can cut a little template and outline all your faces that way.

PA275478[1] PA275480[1]

That’s how I would usually do it, as my free-hand drawing skills leave a LOT to be desired, but I was able to do the Jack-o-lanterns!

It’s a bit faster if you can just draw it on without template!

PA275482[1]

Then you fill them with lots of goodies, fold the tops down and staple the topper in place. I put a staple to the left and right side of the bag, as it wasn’t getting in the way of the writing.

And here’s the finished bag again – from the front:

And from the back:

Pretty easy to do, inexpensive and so cute! Can’t beat that!

Now, onto the giveaway!
